I am not yet sure what direction i will take this blog but i feel like enough people are curious about just what the heck goes on during my days here and so
4A(Megans girls) are in love with me already i think and this will be an interesting dynamic as the honeymoon starts to wear off and i am forced to lay down expectations in the coming weeks. overall i think this will be my favourite class. to give you an idea of how popular i am: i walked into class carrying books at 10am (i dont teach them until 11ish) and in the time it took me to help megan carry the books into the room, put them on her desk and turn around... nearly every girl in the room was standing at attention next to their chairs and desks. I did the only thing that came natural... i went to the front of the class, stood to attention, and saluted the girls military style, only with a huge smile on my face. The girls followed suit giving a military salute back to me and smiling wide. i gave them a hearty "masalama" and told them i would see them later.
4B (Chris' devils) are going to be a handful. for the second day in a row i had only 10 boys in the class and struggled to keep control. what is more my cpu decided to go on the fritz so i sent chris and mines favourite boy to the teachers room to get my blow up globei sat withthe boys huddled in the corner of the classroom and talked to them about the globe, what the equator was, and where we were in the world as opposed to other places like canada and hollywood.
the boys were very restless still and i gave them a quiet, but firm talking to about the need to respect each other and that the talking and yelling out of turn must come to an end. they were better and even finished the class working quietly for a minute (Much to Mr. CHris's surprise).
